This wonderful hunting lodge is ideal for a family get away on beautiful Lake Mattamuskeet. Enjoy the wildlife at your back door or view it all from inside. We have numerous wild game mounts from the area that everyone will enjoy. Bears, wolves, foxes, bobcats, and of course lots of ducks The home features a master bedroom downstairs with a queen and private bath. Upstairs you will find two bedrooms with a double and twin bed each and one room with four bunk beds (these are not kids beds as men sleep in them all the time during duck season). There are two full baths upstairs and an additional 1/2 bath downstairs. Full modern kitchen with dishwasher, stove, oven (with plate warmer - my favorite feature), refrigerator / freezer and plenty of house ware for home cooked meals. Washer / Dryer is also located off the kitchen. The dining table will seat 12 as well. Wide screen TV (Direct TV) and gas fireplace in the open living room as well a pool table.

This is new to the VRBO & Airbnb scene with brand new mattresses, sheets, pillows, and linens. Kitchen and 1 & 1/2 bathrooms are clean and fully functional, but not extremely fancy. New flat screen smart TV with Wifi. Wifi currently pretty slow but working to maximize the signal. Cell service is bad in the area unless you have US cellular but there will be a us cellular iphone at the house for guest use and hotspot. House is cinderblock which seems to block cell service unless near a window or outside. Large parking area with ample room for boats & trailers. Minutes from hunting, fishing, nature.

The kitchen island seats 4, the large dining room table seats 6, and the table facing the River in the front living room seats 4. There is also a vintage wicker bar on the screened-in porch! The kitchen has an electric stove/oven, double sink, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee makers, toaster, and a variety of small appliances, including an air fryer, an air-popped popcorn maker & an ice cream maker. Laundry is handled by the washer & dryer. There is an exterior security camera at the front of the Cottage facing the water and one facing the parking area at the back of the Cottage. We have 2 charcoal grills available. Please bring your own charcoal & clean the grill after use. Our cleaning crew does not clean the grills. In cool weather, enjoy a cozy fire in the Vermont Castings wood stove. Please bring your own firewood and make sure the damper is open. Pamlico Cottage is located between Bath and Belhaven in Eastern North Carolina. Bath, incorporated in 1705, is NC's oldest town and is famous for its ties to Edward Teach, famously known as Blackbeard the pirate. Bath Village has many historic homes as well as the oldest church in North Carolina, St. Thomas Episcopal Church which was consecrated in 1734. Or grab a cup of Java early in the morning and plunk yourself down for serenity tough to contemplate. Watch a bald eagle, Canadian geese, mallards, loons, or the occasional heron .. so why leave? Stay a week or two! Or more! Still water, with shimmering "diamonds", and soft easy breezes will grab you .. we promise. HVAC: Independent, dual HVAC systems provide cooling and heating to suit the needs of the occupants. One side likes 75 degrees while the other likes it cooler? No problem. Set it where you like it! Lawn: Sitting on an open 3/4 acre, the front lawn (north side) is great for playing lawn games or just running around without the fear of traffic. The south side lawn gently slopes down to the bulkhead and water ... super for water related games. "Corn-hole" board/bags are available onsite along with volley ball net and croquet set ... have fun. Bulkhead/Water: The fiberglass/steel reinforced bulkhead has a nice catwalk and tie-downs with a lower landing dock added to aid in kayak entry/exit ... a kayak skidder has been installed and rack is close to make kayaking launch and retrieval as effortless as possible. Swimming and diving is not permitted or advised with the 3-4' nominal depth and it varies a bit due to wind and tide. Jump a craft, however, and launch yourself and family into Scott River or Pungo Creek. The waters there are seasonal in temp of course but very nice from late May until the early part of October. Occasionally you'll find "hot pockets" where the water temp is noticeably warmer compared to just a few feet away ... can't readily explain the phenomena but just enjoy it! Brackish water hosts both saltwater and freshwater fish of many types. Fishing licenses may be purchased locally with rules and regulations readily available. We have limited fishing gear onsite for you but best to bring your own, particularly "Grandpa's favorite lure". You'll spot the occasional local fisherman right on the point for a reason .. there's fish in these waters! Kayaks: Our 2 recreational single seat, sit-on kayaks are available onsite for your enjoyment, and we "park'em" right at the water's edge. No long hauling involved. Paddles and life-jackets are also provided for your use free of charge. Area land/water maps are available in the house to familiarize with. We suggest that you bring waterproof bags for cell phones and have directional apps installed on them for your safety and convenience.

The layout of this home is equally comfortable for a family, a couple or several couples or friends who want to spend time together... yet also have time to themselves.
